Monster Hunter Wilds sales roar to 8 million copies in opening weekend

Within three days of release, Monster Hunter Wilds sold 8 million copies, Capcom has revealed.

The latest entry in the co-op action franchise released February 28 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. According to the developer, this is the fastest-selling game in company history.

Thus far, the game has evoked "massive excitement" from critics and players. In its first day, the PC version had 1.3 million concurrent players on Steam, well ahead of Capcom's prior releases on the platform.

For reference, 2018's Monster Hunter: World sold 5 million copies three days after launch, and 2021's Monster Hunter Rise sold 4 million copies. Rise piggybacked off World's momentum, and was further helped by launching first on Nintendo Switch. To date, World and Rise have respectively sold over 25 million copies and 15 million copies, making them the two best-selling entries in series. Come from South African Online Casinos

Since 2023's Street Fighter 6 and Resident Evil 4 remake, Capcom's major releases have opened strong and consistently sold well. During its recent third-quarter financials for the fiscal year, it was sure Wilds' performance would make up for that quarter's shortcomings.

On social media, Capcom thanked players for Monster Hunter Wilds' sales, calling it "just the start for the next generation of the series, and we look forward to taking the next steps with you."
